After Ceasing to Be a Bee

(Exhalation Poem)
After Ceasing to Be a Bee

Saran Rai

When bumblebees, butterflies, and honeybees cease to be,
when beauty, colors, and tenderness cease to be touched,
the heart begins to wither,
love begins to die—then,
though the breath still continues...
what remains, really—
what remains at all?!
