Old Plant

Old Plant
(For my contemporaries — and for my own spirit, inspiration, and strength — written out of the feeling of neglect that comes with old age, when one’s body weakens, life grows lonely, and people deem you useless.)

An old Plant that stopped blooming—
why would anyone care for it?

She uprooted it and threw it away.

But a true admirer replanted that plant.
From its roots sprouted tiny saplings,
and those saplings grew—
they bloomed into beautiful flowers.

Enchanting blossoms,
a delightful, serene surrounding.
Seeing it—
the selfish one who had discarded it felt sorrow,
while the true admirer,
from the depth of his soul—
felt immense joy. 🌹
